Overview:

Find your escape when visiting the timeless paradise of Blennerhassett Island, the jewel of the Ohio River! Experience nature, discover the history, and enjoy a delicious, prefixed dinner in the historic town of Parkersburg. A 20-minute ride in a sternwheeler ferry will take us to the Island for a glimpse of life on a colonial plantation. Guides wearing period-accurate costumes will conduct us through the mansion. Take a seat in the back of a horse-drawn wagon for a tour around the quaint scenery, enjoy concessions, and visit the Island’s eclectic gift shop. After the Island, visit the Julia-Ann Square Historic District, the largest and oldest historic district in WV.  Comprised of approximately 126 homes, the district’s structures are the Second Empire, 19 century eclectic and Queen Ann styles dating from 1850 to 1910. Enjoy a self-guided historic walking tour of the District with a stop to visit one of the homes, where the owner will share a unique history. Pre-fixed dinner included at family-owned Italian restaurant.
